.....how many addresses do you have on the database? - approaching half a million.

.....what is a Postcode Area? - the first part of the postcode that you see on your letters - eg N1 or SW6 etc.

.....I can’t see the area that I want – can you help? - Probably, particularly in the more central Postcode Areas. But if you want it really urgently and it is in an area where we are not currently delivering we will have to charge a bit more because we will have to divert our staff to inspect the area for you.

.....how many addresses are there in each postcode area? - this varies – smallest ones are around 5,000 – the larger ones are over 20,000, one is over 30.000.

.....who owns the list? - Thorne Henderson Limited, Distribution Agents and Marketing & Promotion Consultants.

.....how do you collect the address information? - the information is collected by Thorne Henderson staff who are constantly delivering to these Postcode Areas. This ensures that our data is more up to date and complete than any other list we know.

.....who manages the list? - Phil Parkin – IT and Marketing Sevices.

.....how often is the list updated? - it depends – on where Thorne Henderson are delivering at the time. We aim to give our customers at least two fully updated versions each year.

.....do I get the updates or do I need to buy the list again? - we generally provide updates free of charge for the first year. Thereafter we provide an inexpensive ongoing annual licence to use the list which includes updates.

.....what format is the list in? - up to you really – normally we would deliver in Excel spreadsheet format, but if you want straight CSV (Comma Separated Variable) or any other delimited text formats we can probably oblige (sorry about the tech jargon).

.....how do you deliver the list(s)? - usually via email, but if this is a problem we can come round and install it for you.

.....I don’t have any experience in how to set up my mailing – can you help? - yes, provided you know the basics of using Microsoft Office, or the like, we can help you set up your mail merge etc.

.....your site mentions delivery services – what are they? - Thorne Henderson Limited are carrying out door to door delivery services for many well respected London based organisations. They do not generally get involved with leaflet or magazine delivery, but more with targeted sales letter communication.

.....does your list include commercial properties? - no, we specialise in residential only.

.....does your list include the name of the property owner? - no, up to 40% of those names that are on a consumer list will be wrong at any given time - and increasing numbers registering with the Mail Preference Service (MPS) result in decreasing opportunities for you to reach them by name.

Research carried out in London in 2007 by GfK NOP Social Research on behalf of The Electoral Commission suggests that approximately 20% of eligible people were not registered. And, of course, the occupier is not necessarily the Homwowner.

.....how much does the list cost? - it depends on the size of the area you want to cover, how many postcode areas and addresses you want, so best to contact us to talk about it. But as a guideline, most postcode areas cost between £700 to £900 individually.

.....The area I want contains bits of several postcode areas. Do I have to buy the whole of these areas or can you give me just the streets I want? - No you don't have to buy the whole postcode area in each case. We can provide a list including just the streets you want, tailored to your needs. Talk to us and we will provide a price for your package.

.....can I use the list any number of times? - yes – your initial purchase entitles you to use the list any number of times in the first year with any updates that we make (at least two). Thereafter a small fee (currently £50 per annum per Postcode Area) will allow continued use of the list plus updates for a further year.

.....can I share the list with anyone else? - definitely NOT – we license the list for YOUR use. We do not apply all sorts of security restrictions that would make it difficult for YOU to use the list. But we have applied some features that will enable us to identify misuse of the list. Sorry to get heavy about this, but it costs us a lot to maintain this list as the best on the market, therefore we will prosecute anybody who supplies this list to somebody who is not authorised by us to use it.

.....I have got your list but not from you - what should I do? - let us know how it happened - you will NOT be prosecuted - you WILL be REWARDED!
